Salem State University Police Take Custody of Stabbing Suspect

The man accused of stabbing two people aboard a Salem State University shuttle was reportedly turned over to university police Monday afternoon.

The man accused of stabbing two people aboard a Salem State University shuttle bus last month was turned over to university police Monday afternoon.

The Essex County District Attorney's Office announced earlier this month that it would seek a Governor's warrant for Timothy Wells, 25, of Woburn, after he refused to waive rendition while being held without bail in Hudson, N.Y.

Wells was reportedly arrested by Salem State University police at 2:07 p.m., according to today's Salem Patch police log post

Wells is accused of stabbing a student and a bus driver in what police believe was a random attack on Sept. 25.

Wells was later arrested on the Taconic Parkway in New York.

At his arraignment in New York, Wells was ordered held without bail on two counts of assault with intent to murder and two counts of assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon, a knife.

He was reportedly transported by university police to Salem District Court.
