Salem Fire Department's New $1.1M Ladder Truck Arrives

Here are the five things you need to know before you start your week in Salem.


Today is Monday, Oct. 21, and here are the five things you need to know: 

1. It should be a nice start to the week weather-wise. The National Weather Service is predicting that local residents can expect it to be sunny, with a high near 65. Tonight should be mostly clear, with a low around 46. It is expected to cool off considerably before the end of the week. (sunrise, 7:03 a.m.; low tide, 7:05 a.m.; high tide, 1:19 p.m.; sunset, 5:51 p.m.)

2. Members of Salem City Council will meet Thursday night at City Hall on Washington Street. The meeting is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. Click Here to view all of the recently-posted Salem City Council agendas.

3. Don't forget! Yard waste will be picked up curbside in Salem this week, so be sure to put your clippings out. Click Here for more information, including a list of what is and isn't acceptable. 

4. This will be the first week that the Salem Fire Department will have its brand new $1.1 million ladder truck at the station. The department posted the photo above to its official Twitter account on Friday. Click Here for our full story.
