Salem Man Arrested on Unarmed Robbery Charge

The following is an excerpt from the Salem Police Department's log: 


Tuesday, Dec. 3


  • At 4:12 p.m., police responded to a reported harassment on Essex Street.
  • At 4:39 p.m., police responded to a disturbance on High Street Court. A group of kids were reportedly spotted smoking marijuana at a playground.
  • At 5:17 p.m., police responded to a dispute between roommates on Essex Street.
  • At 5:41 p.m., police responded to a shoplifting incident at the Target on Highland Avenue. Emmanuel DeJesus, 30, of 100 Willow St., Lynn, was arrested was arrested on a charge of larceny over $250 and for reportedly having two outstanding warrants.
  • At 5:44 p.m., police responded to a reported shoplifting incident on Paradise Road.
  • At 7:04 p.m., police assisted the DPW with filling a large pothole near the intersection of North and School streets.
  • At 7:13 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Margin Street. A juvenile was arrested.
  • At 7:56 p.m., the manager of the Dunkin' Donuts on Highland Avenue called police to request that a no trespass order be issued to a former employee.
  • At 8:02 p.m., police stopped a motor vehicle near the intersection of Valley Street and Highland Avenue. Shawn D. Teague, 43, of 63 Pierpont St., Peabody, was arrested on charges of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, subsequent offense, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and violating the city's knife ordinance.
  • At 8:32 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on Bridge Street.
  • At 8:35 p.m., police responded to a shoplifting incident at the Target on Highland Avenue.
  • At 11:46 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Congress Street. Angel O. Geronimo, 21, of 92 Congress St., Salem, was arrested on charges of domestic assault and battery, unarmed robbery and receiving stolen property.
  • At 11:54 p.m., Salem State University police made an arrest on Loring Avenue. John F. Finnegan, 19, of 8 Brookhaven Road, Worcester, was arrested on a charge of being a minor in possession of alcohol.

Wednesday, Dec. 4

  • At 12:03 a.m., police responded to a report of a drunk man causing a disturbance on Margin Street. Walter E. Edmunds, 57, of 240 Albany St., Cambridge, was arrested for reportedly having two outstanding warrants.
  • At 12:59 a.m., police conducted a well-being check on Congress Street.
  • At 8:01 a.m., police responded to a dispute on Congress Street.
  • At 11:56 a.m., police responded to a reported fuel spill on Washington Street.
  • At 3:08 p.m., Salem detectives entered the Fresh Taste of Asia restaurant on Washington Street and seized the business' liquor license. The restaurant was reportedly not in compliance with Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 304.
  • At 3:20 p.m., police responded to a dispute on Leach Street.

Other Arrests:

Kim L. Caron, 39, of 40 Highland Ave., Salem, was arrested for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.

Gregory A. Tobey, 53, of the streets of Salem, was arrested on a charge of trespassing.
