Salem Police Make Drug Arrest on Loring Avenue

The following is an excerpt from the Salem Police Department's log: 

Tuesday Jan. 28

  • At 4:36 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on Lafayette Street.
  • At 5:16 p.m., police responded to a report of three people going through dumpsters near the intersection of Lafayette and Harbor streets.
  • At 5:21 p.m., police responded to a report of a false prescription at the Walgreens on New Derby Street. Kimberly A. Papa, 39, of 3 Cross St., Salem, was arrested on charges of uttering a false prescription and altering a prescription.
  • At 5:42 p.m., police responded to a report of a past assault on Highland Avenue.
  • At 6:22 p.m., police responded to a dispute on North Street.
  • At 6:42 p.m., police responded to a report of a past assault at Salem Hospital on Highland Avenue.
  • At 6:58 p.m., police responded to a dispute on Federal Street.
  • At 10:11 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on Pioneer Terrace.

Wednesday, Jan. 29:
 
  • At 12:02 a.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Beaver Street.
  • At 12:35 a.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Mason Street. 
  • At 9:12 a.m., police responded to a past vehicle break-in on Boston Street.
  • At 9:34 a.m., police conducted a well-being check on Lafayette Street.
  • At 12:40 p.m., police responded to a report of a suspicious package on Highland Avenue.
  • At 1:39 p.m., police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Loring Avenue. Christopher Knestaut, 34, of 21 Harbor ST., Salem, was arrested on charges of illegally possessing a class B substance (Suboxone) and illegally possessing a class C substance (Clonazepam).
  • At 2:04 p.m., a woman called police to report that her purse and iPhone recently went missing.

Other Arrest 

Wayne G. Trippett, 68, of 40 Highland Ave., Salem, was arrested on a charge of operating a motor vehicle with a revoked license and for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.
