Salem Firefighters Extinguish Three-Alarm Blaze on School Street

Area firefighters extinguished a fire at 12 School St. in Salem early Monday morning.

Three people were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries Monday morning after a three-alarm fire ripped through a multi-family home on School Street, fire officials said. 

At approximately 5:30 a.m., Salem firefighters responded to a reported structure fire on the second floor of a two-and-a-half-story home at 12 School St.

A local fire official confirmed that the fire was contained shortly after 7 a.m. 

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. 

Firefighters from Lynn, Danvers and Peabody assisted at the scene.
