A pedestrian was taken to Salem Hospital Saturday morning after being struck by a motor vehicle on Loring Avenue.
According to reports, the victim was in traumatic arrest at the scene. A medical helicopter was initially requested, but then canceled.
The vehicle that struck the pedestrian reportedly fled the scene and is a small black car.
The accident was initially reported around 9 a.m. near 464 Loring Ave. As of 12:30 p.m., no further details were available from Salem police.
