ReplyI'm just happy it's going to warm up. The sun and above-average temps will take care of the remaining ice. However, i dread the next snow storm. Wish someone in City Hall would take note of this blog!!

I know. And I have two dogs so I am forced to walk the streets. I can't tell you how many times I have slipped and fallen. Just lucky that I didn't seriously hurt myself. I have a friend in Lynn who has been fined $25 each time she neglected to shovel her walks. She's having them shovelled now!! Salem needs to do the same...

ReplyAnd the city did nothing. We, the neighbors, asked him to stop cutting down our buffer zone, but he just ignored us. The building inspector should have issued a "Cease and Desist" once he realized what he had done. But that didn't happen. Nor was this man fined. He put in the drainage system without a permit and the gas tanks without a permit. The drainage system drained its water right into a neighbor's basement. Were it not for Paul Prevey and the Council, that drainage system would still be there wreaking havoc. I believe we have suffered enough. The City needs to take action. And Buffum Street will never be the same!

ReplyI think the City should plant the trees according to our plan and put a lien on his real estate tax bill. Or force him to pay up before opening. That's the only way these trees will ever get planted. it has been three very long years - the man has never been fined. Obviously holding up his certificate doesn't matter to him. The city needs to take some sort of action now. How many more neighborhoods need to be destroyed before the city steps in??

ReplyFinally!! Buffum Street is a nightmare - and many people who take the train park their cars on our street making a bad situation even worse. I can barely get down the street to access my driveway. It has become LESS than a one-way street. Thank you, Chief Tucker!!

My barrels end up in front of my neighbor's house and he ends up taking them into his backyard by mistake. I've already lost one barrel - don't know where it ended up. And I don't dare put the lids on the barrels when I put them out - they always end up gone!
