As a Salem resident with two young boys, I am passionate about environmental issues at the local, state, national, and global levels.  The environment underpins every aspect of our lives--the economy, food security, energy security, human health, political stability, even democracy.  The two motto's that guide me: "We must be the change we wish to see in the world." - Ghandi, and "Avoid the unmanageable and manage the unavoidable." - from the title of a report prepared in 2007 for the United Nations Comission on Sustainable Development.
