Thank you! I got this from a friend who specializes in Japanese cuisine... this is just a "quick pickling" . The actual process and ingredients to do the traditional tskemono is ALOT to say the least!!... You even use weights as part of the process. I make these on a weekly basis and the taste is pretty close! I hope you try out my recipe!! Thank you for your comments!! :)

This is a low carb dream!! I am currently on a low carb diet myself. So this is one of those great substitution veggies you can make in place of mashed potatoes and still feel satisfied. Another great way to add flavor is boil the celeriac in some chicken broth. I appreciate you looking for me hidden beneath all the other blogs! I do post once a week by friday the latest! I hope you enjoy the meal!

This dish is really that easy and it is sooooooooooooooo yummy! You are very welcome Karen! :) To answer your question yes ,you can cook it the night before and reheat it the next day. I actually prep the dish and do everything but cook it the night before. Then I take it out and about an hour before the Ham is done pop it in the oven.Either way it is absolutely delicious!

I find that the trick is always finding a way to make the recipe as easy to make as possible. I have no comment on the boxed potatoes...lol But I have a sneaking suspicion these will BLOW them away!! This recipe feeds 6 people...and when I say 6 people I mean 6 full grown men. I can say without a doubt that once you try these you wont be reaching for those boxed potatoes any more!! Have a blessed Easter as well!! Thank you so much for all your comments!

FYI...this time of year Boursin can sometimes sell out. If that is the case and you can not find any you can substitute the Boursin with a container of garlic and chive cream cheese.

The good thing about most dishes is it is easy to interchange most ingredients to fit your particular life style.I have alot of friends and everyone of them is on some weird diet or another. I think it is also a good idea to expirement with new ways of cooking/eating. Those readers who also have health issues and miss cream sauce may find this plant based dish to be a nice change of pace. I love requests becuase it forces me outside my comfort zone as a chef and sometimes can be truely inspiring especially when you use an ingredient that you may not have tried otherwise! Let me know how your sauce turns out!

I had some requests for Vegan recipes... Just so you know you can substitute the chicken broth with "Better than Bouillon" it is Vegan certified(you can find this at stores that carry vegan products..even walmart carries this brand)..follow the directions to make 4 cups of broth and then omit the extra water in the recipe above and obviously the chicken Use a medium firm tofu instead. The rest of the recipe is totally vegan friendly! Thank you for your comments on FB etc!!

I have worked in Televison as a food stylist for years. Obviously being in this industry I know alot of resturant /club/ bar owners . I have consulted and helped develop alot of Menus in my day. It is something I actually love to do. I get to be creative and offer advice on what direction a resturant should go. Justin and his brother are well respected in this field and their mother is a very well known pastry chef and they have been extremely successful. I was excited when he asked if I would kick around some ideas with him . Great guy. When they open up in the spring you have to go!! Prime spot right on the water at Pickering wharf. Their lobster rolls are to die for!! Can't wait to see what they have in store food wise!! Thank you for your comments!! :)

Thats wonderful! One thing about my kitchen is it is pretty well stocked with the basics so all I really have to do is pick up the protien and any veggies. If you grab your herbs and spices butter oil flour sugars etc when they are on sale instead of when you go to make a dish it cuts cost significantly. Please let me know how you enjoyed the stew!!

I am thrilled that you like my recipes! When I think storm I always go straight to stews and chillis. Dishes with substance that will fill you up (so your not eating crap all day because you can' t leave the house) and no fuss meals that can be kept in the oven or ontop of the stove for everyone to help themselves . Please stay warm this weekend! Enjoy the stew!!
