There was a Mardi Gras event there ( during the blizzard), hosted by Historic Salem Inc.,that took place and a certain amount of money was raised but I'm not sure if it was enough considering everything that was going on at the time.

ReplyI don't think this was a DPW over scheduling problem. I think it was a communication breakdown that one man was able to reignite through a few phone calls. The DPW rep was more then happy and eager to resolve the problem quickly. Which he did. My hat is off to all the people that put the puzzle together and got it done.Thank You!

ReplyWhy was this allowed to happen? To not have this repaired for three years was an act of neglect by the city. Having a asset and not making full use of it for the visitors and residents of Salem brings more questions than answers. Everybody I know was under the impression this was an "ancient" infrastructure issue. "No remedy possible". I'm thrilled it is working but truly sad we have been deprived of this treasure for three years.
