ReplyThe coyotes have considerably cut down the populations of rabbits, groundhogs, and skunks in our neighborhood, which borders the Forest River Conservation area. Maybe, the coyotes have pushed some skunks north towards downtown.

ReplyI love Coffee Time's paczkis! They are huge and generously filled with fresh cream and fruit. I love all the flavors, but my favorite is rasberry. Thanks for carrying on the tradition, Rob!

ReplyLooks like a view of Washington St. from the Essex St. intersection (Town House Sq.) taken in the late 60's or very early '70s before the pedestrian mall was built.

I live in the Cedarcrest neighborhood and we have a huge number of turkeys this year. I've always enjoyed watching them, especially during mating season when the males put on an impressive display. This is the first year, in my recollection that they have become aggressive and problematic. I've watched my neighbors in their cars trying to get past the flock that won't budge even with horns blaring and engines revving threatening to run them over. One of the males, the biggest, most aggressive one, has been trying to intimidate me and my elderly mixed breed shepard as we go for our daily walk. He stalks us and then chases us, which stinks because my dog is almost 15 years old, is weak and has mobility issues. When he and his cohorts were in my yard last week and he starting coming after me, so I pulled out my garden rake and pushed him away. But he would not be moved! He wanted to fight me and my rake with his beak and strong taloned feet. Not forgeting that they can fly, I backed off to consider another method of defense. Any suggestions?
