ReplyA few of my neighbors use leaf blowers. Thankfully, it's just a few times a year. My neighborhood is totally polluted by news & I have just learned to adapt & live with it. From the people who have home woodshops & consistently use table saws & sanders at all hours of the day to the dozen or so people who use a remote starter to start their cars & let them run (some with their car radios cranked up to 10) for up to 1/2 an hour before they head off to their M-F grind at 6 a.m. to the loud music & obnoxious drunks coming out of In A Pig's Eye 5-6 nights a week. Sure, ALL of these things affect my quality of life, but I've learned to tune them out & focus on the positive things about where I live.

A re-run is a previously aired show. She was probably watching old episodes on MTV or VH1...but, seriously! Call the cops about this?? More like check your meds.

ReplyIs the CupCake craze over yet? If not, maybe the owner of Cupcake Café & Bakery in Beverly or Sweet in Boston could open a Salem outpost. Space is too small to install a full baking kitchen, but cupcakes could be delivered daily with an ever-changing variety of flavors. I have tons of Chef friends. One makes his own Gelato. Another makes custom-designed Cookies (from her own kitchen). They could join the CupCake lady in offering sweet treats!

ReplyI live in a "purple" area, but I work in a "red" industry. Not sure if I am in Downtown or East Salem, but both these zones have the highest number of "service class" residents of which I am a member.
So, I'm a low-skilled, low-wage earner whose neighbors are more skilled with higher paying jobs??
Kind of like the ugliest house on the prettiest street.
Cool!

ReplyTavern in the Square?? Really?? Those Yelp reviews must've been written by drunks with no tastebuds.

Oh! I love that photo of the parking garage in Savannah, GA. Very nice. I rarely use the commuter rail, but I still am going to have to look at the structure. Your examples are much nicer than the one that is proposed.

That sounds great! "The city provides them." I hope that the Mayor is reading your comment. If recycling is going to be mandatory, the city should provide each household with Sturdy Covered Trash Barrels not the small bins we use now that get whipped around the street that crack & break, etc.
