Salem Police Charge Lynn Man With Threats to Kill

A Lynn man was arrested on an assault with a dangerous weapon charge Monday night.

A Lynn man accused of threatening to kill a woman with a firearm Monday night was arrested on Loring Avenue in Swampscott and turned over to Salem police. Miguel A. Baez, 22, of 3 Milton St., Lynn, was arrested on charges of domestic assault and battery, assault with a dangerous weapon (firearm) and two counts of threatening to commit a crime (murder). At 9:14 p.m., police responded to a report of a man threatening others with a firearm at 54 Perkins St. After a be-on-the-look-out alert was sent out to surrounding police departments, Salem State University police officers and Swampscott police reportedly stopped a gray 2005 Nissan Altima on Loring Avenue. Alleged Fugitive Leads Salem Police on Chase

A man accused of being a fugitive from justice led Salem police on a brief car chase Tuesday afternoon.

A wanted California man led Salem police officers on a brief car chase Tuesday afternoon before bailing out of his vehicle and fleeing on foot. Sean P. Bell, 44, of 195 Wabash Ave., Ukiah, Calif., is expected to be arraigned in Salem District Court today on charges of being a fugitive from justice, failure to stop for police, disorderly conduct and negligent operation of a motor vehicle. According to Lt. Scott Englehardt, local officers located Bell's pickup truck on Loring Avenue and he sped away when they attempted to pull him over. Bell is also facing additional charges of speeding and passing illegally. After a brief foot-chase, Bell was arrested on Canal Street. Salem Patch will post additional information as it becomes available.

Salem Police Nab Alleged Serial Burglar, Recover Thousands in Stolen Items

A local man police believe is responsible for a series of recent break-ins in Salem's Ward 1 neighborhood was arrested Tuesday afternoon.

Salem police officers arrested a local man Tuesday they believe is responsible for a recent string of break-ins and reportedly recovered thousands of dollars worth of stolen items while searching his apartment. John T. Mizioch, 25, of 12.5 Daniels St., Salem, was reportedly arrested on an outstanding warrant Tuesday afternoon as he exited a taxi cab at 426 Essex St. He has since been charged with three counts of breaking an entering during the daytime with intent to commit a felony, three counts of larceny over $250, two counts of malicious destruction of property valued above $250 and one count of possessing a large knife. Following his warrant arrest on Essex Street, local police officers obtained and executed a search warrant at Mizioch…

Stoneham Dad Charged With OUI After Trying to Pick Up Kids From School

Police say 46-year-old father tried to pick up his two children from two separate schools in Salem while driving drunk (his second offense).

Police say a Stoneham man was intoxicated when he tried to pick up his two children from school in Salem Friday afternoon. Thomas W. Gallant, 46, of Stoneham, was subsequently arrested on his second offense of drunk driving, according to WCVB. Salem police responded to Kiddie Koop Child Care Center on Foster Street at 2:01 p.m. after receiving word that a man there was trying to pick up his daughter while drunk. Police then took Gallant into custody on the OUI charge. And about a half hour earlier, reports WCVB, Gallant had been at the Horace Mann Laboratory School over on Loring Avenue trying to pick up his older daughter. Local Duo Arrested for Dealing Crack, Ecstasy

A local man and woman were arrested Friday night for allegedly selling crack cocaine and ecstasy.

A pair of Salem residents were arrested Friday night on charges of possessing crack cocaine and ecstasy with intent to distribute. At 6:03 p.m., Salem Police Department detectives reportedly acted on information gathered during a recent investigation into Ismael Pierre-Saint, 31, of 5 Pond St., Salem, who had reportedly sold rock cocaine to an undercover officer on three separate occasions. While being arrested in his driveway on Pond Street, Pierre-Saint was reportedly found to be in possession of an undisclosed amount of crack cocaine. wow .you dont even know her and your talking bout her. i know her well she is my sister and she did not collect welfare she worked alot of hours and supported her kids and paid a high rent even though it was section 8 housing..people make mistakes and i guarantee you guys have made mistakes maybe not the same ones.   more ›
