Man Charged with Home Invasion, Resident Charged with A&B

The following information was submitted by the Salem Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

The following is an excerpt from the Salem Police Department's log: Friday, April 19 Man Charged with Home Invasion, Resident Charged with A&B At 1:01 a.m. police were called to Salem Street on a report of a possible fight. Upon arrival they realized it was a home invasion but the resident had allegeldy assaulted the perpetrator with a knife and was also arrested. Police arrested Benjamin Magee, 24, no current address, and charged him with malicious destruction of property, home invasion, assault and battery and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.  In a separate but related incident, police also arrested Deisere Lee Watson, 30, of 31 Salem St., and charged her with assault and battery by a dangerous weapon. Cyclist Crashes into Vehicle on Boston Street

The following is an excerpt from the Salem Police Department's log: Wednesday, April 17 At 4:02 p.m. a caller reported a stolen laptop on Loring Hills Avenue.  At 4:08 p.m. a caller reported dog abuse on Pope Street. An officer checked out the situation and the dog owner said he spanked the dog on the rear-end when it tried to go into the neighbor's mulch.  At 5:02 p.m. multiple caller reported a motor vehicle accident involving a cyclist on Boston Street. The driver of the vehicle as well as witnesses said that a teenager was riding a bike and then eating candy and looking down as he ran into the passenger side of a vehicle backing out of a spot in a parking lot on Boston Street.  At 7:36 p.m. an employee at Walmart reported someone …

The following is an excerpt from the Salem Police Department's log: Sunday, April 14 At 1:05 a.m. a caller reported a motor vehicle accident at Highland Avenue and Jackson Street.  At 8:06 a.m. a caller reported the theft of a motor vehicle license plate on Canal Street.  At 11:31 a.m. a caller reported that the back window of her motor vehicle was smashed while parked at Salem Hospital.  At 4:31 p.m. a caller reported a stolen bicycle on Church Street. The caller said that whoever had taken the bike had a key to his shed and then cut a cable that the bike was locked into. The bike was valued at $400. Woman Busted for Stealing Window Decal on Highland Avenue

The following is an excerpt from the Salem Police Department's log: Saturday, April 13 At 12:19 p.m. a Highland Avenue shop reported a woman that was seen putting an inexpensive window decal in her purse. She was given a no trespass order and not allowed to come back in the store. At 12:35 p.m. a caller reported that a pot was thrown through his window on Canal Street. At 10:54 p.m. Planet Fitness reports that someone vandalized their property at the gym. The caller said someone put shaving cream and toilet paper all over the locker room. It was believed that former employees did it.

The Salem Police responded to the following calls and made the following arrests on Sunday and Monday. Sunday, June 24 5 p.m. — Police responded to a noise complaint on Hancock Street. 5:14 p.m. — A dispute between neighbors was reported on Roslyn Street. A woman said her neighbors were blocking her parking spaces.   5:44 p.m. — Police responded to a grass fire on the tracks between Grove and Flint streets. A man was putting it out when police arrived. The man said he may have incurred a burn from the flame, but refused medical attention. 6:54 a.m. — A man told police he saw his moped, which was stolen several months prior, in the parking lot in the Willows. PHOTOS: Memorial to Renard Keeps Growing

Friends and family have been remembering the life of Boston Street accident victim.

Family and friends have been taking the time to remember the life Dillon Renard, 19, of Danvers who was killed Saturday in a car accident on Boston Street. In the emotional aftermath, which included the Monday arraignement of the woman who was driving the vehicle in which Renard was a passenger, a utility pole outside All Star Collision Center, near the scene of the accident, has been transformed into a memorial for the teen. That memorial continues to grow by the day.

Griffin Says 'It's My Fault; It's My Car'

Griffin was arraigned at Salem District Court on Monday.

Angelique Griffin, 25, of 30 Pleasant St. in Salem, pleaded not guilty to charges of vehicular homicide Monday at Salem District Court. Dillon Renard, 19, of Kirkbride Drive in Danvers, was killed instantly, when the PT Cruiser Griffin was driving crashed into a parked tow truck outside All Star Collision Center on Boston Street in Salem early Saturday. Griffin's cash bail was reduced from $50,000 to $10,000, according to the Boston Herald. If Griffin posts bail, she will be required to wear a GPS tracking device and will be ordered to stay in her residence. The single mother of toddler twins, who is employed by the Golden Banana in Peabody, according to court records, admitted to first responders at the scene that she had been drinking …
