7 Businesses That Opened in Salem in 2012

Here's a closer look at some of the businesses that opened in Salem this year.

As we continue to reflect on the year that was 2012 in Salem, we can't help but notice that a bunch of new local businesses have opened their doors over the last 12 months. Salem Businesses the Opened in 2012 Flying Saucer Pizza: When The Upper Crust closed in February, many Salem foodies were left wondering what would become of the downtown space. In May, the business reopened as the Flying Saucer. Steve Feldmann, owner of the nearby Gulu Gulu Cafe, opened the gourmet pizza place with a 60's sci-fi theme. Life Alive Cafe: Life Alive Cafe, a self-proclaimed urban oasis and organic cafe opened in the Essex Street space formerly occupied by Coven in May.
