What Should Go in Dodge Street's Old Space?

Tell us what you'd choose if you could have power over what was moving in.

Dodge Street Bar and Grill vacated the space at 7 Dodge St. at the beginning of 2012. Now, all that's left is a sign still advertising live music and a CD jukebox — the rest of the building appears empty from the street. There's not a "For Rent" sign up as of now, but we're curious to know what you'd like to see in this space behind Walgreens. Take a look at the photo attached to this article. If you had the resources and the authority to decide what would go here, what would you choose? Tell us in the comments. If you'd like us to get reader input on a certain vacant spot in the city, be sure to let us know in the comments, and we would be happy to feature it.

I'd like to see another live music venue in there. I was a booking agent at Dodge Street for 2 1/2 years, and I booked Doc Ryan's for a year. The way the music scene blossom during those years (2003-2006) made me realize the potential.   more ›

What Should Go in This Derby Street Space?

Do you have any ideas for the spot at 84 Derby St.? Let us know in the comments.

There was talk a Steampunk restaurant could be going in the space at 84 Derby St., but the storefront is currently for rent. The building is located steps away from Blaney Street, home of Salem Ferry, and a few steps away from Derby Street Laundry. If you had the resources and the authority to decide what would go here, what would you choose? Tell us in the comments.

What Should Go in the Old Artemisia Botanicals Space?

If you were a developer, what would you put in this space on Pickering Wharf?

Artemisia Botanicals recently vacated its space at 102 Wharf St. to move to Hawthorne Boulevard. "This is a dream come true for us; we have always wanted our own space and now it's coming true," members of the business told customers on their business website. But with one shop gone, there is room for another at this location. It's located close to an entrance to Pickering Wharf adjacent to Antiques and Oriental Goods and across from other shops like the Picklepot. So, take a look at the photo attached to this article. If you had the resources and the authority to decide what would go here, what would you choose? Tell us in the comments. If you'd like us to get reader input on a certain vacant spot in the city, be sure to let us know in …

My head exploded long ago. When did the lease start and how much did we pay in total? Maybe it was enough to hire a teacher or police officer. Who is the owner related to? That foolish investment should be returned to the taxpayers.   more ›

What Should Go in the Old Signatures Space?

If you were a developer, what would you put in this former shop?

What would you like to see in the location previously occupied by Signatures at 181 Essex St.? The building is situated on the Pedestrian Mall near other businesses including Bernard's and Bewitched. So, take a look at the photo attached to this article, and imagine the space without mannequins and clothing in the windows. If you had the resources and the authority to decide what would go here, what would you choose? Tell us in the comments.
