Salem May See Up to 4 Inches of Snow by Morning Commute

Snow is expected to blanket the area overnight, accumulating 2-4 inches by Tuesday morning.

A snow storm that arrived in Salem Monday night may leave up to 7 inches of heavy snow in its wake before tomorrow's morning commute. The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch, forecasting 2-4 inches of snow as temperatures drop to the low 20s with 15-25 mph winds and gusts up to 40 mph. Meanwhile, the local forecast for Salem says 2-4 inches. "There is still some uncertainty on the amounts, which will depend on the exact track of the [storm]," says the Weather Service. If the storm does blanket the Salem area, snow is expected to continue through the night. Snow may be heavy at times.
