Black Friday Protesters to Take on Walmart This Week
The store, meanwhile, says it's ready for the holiday shopping event.
Large groups of labor and community workers are preparing to hold a Black Friday protest at several Walmart locations across the state this Friday, including the Salem branch of the store, according to an announcement from Jobs with Justice. Friday's action comes just a month after delegations of concerned customers spread to locations across Massachusetts to demand an end to the store's retaliation against its employees, according to JWJ. Workers began taking action at warehouses and retail stories nationwide in October, speaking out against low wages, unsafe working conditions and Walmart's attempts to slice workers' voices on the job. You picked a great name #1-looser, I don't work at Walmart but I do have a lot of compassion for the people that have to work there after feeling how hot it was in the Salem store, on a 90 degree day and the girl at the register looked like she was going to pass out from the heat.
