Peabody police arrested a Peabody man Monday afternoon on a warrant in connection to an armed robbery at Town Variety the night before. The description of the suspect in Sunday's robbery in Peabody - a white male in his 40s, who was dressed in a dark plaid green jacket, black winter hat and jeans - matches exactly this surveillance image taken during an armed robbery at a 7-Eleven in Salem last week. Similar to Salem's robbery, the suspect reportedly wielded a small black handgun during the robbery at Town Variety in Peabody. Glenn E. Roderick, 41, of 18 Elm St. #2, Peabody, was served with an outstanding warrant from Peabody District Court for a charge of armed robbery with a firearm.
