Guess the Restaurant

Can you name which Salem restaurant served this plate?

ANSWER: This Cubano comes from a new corner of the city's restaurant scene — the just-opened Naumkeag Ordinary. "Ordinary," as used here in its colonial sense, means more or less "pub." I'm looking forward to repeat trips! Nice addition to an already lively corner. ~~~~ Each weekend we post a photo of a dish from one of Salem's restaurants. Matt B is correct! Sorry I forgot to close the loop on Monday on this one. The Cubano is delicious. My wife had a burger, which was also a winner. Great, friendly service too.   more ›

Becky...Did I say you were an alcoholic if you are a patron of this place? Did I say that if you were a patron of this restaurant, you must therefor be an alcoholic. NO! And who the Mac and Cheese cares what your job or your husbands jobs are? Nobody said I was a lawyer, I didn't, I'm not...but it doesn't take one to point out when things are wrong now does it? ANSWERED: Guess the Restaurant

Can you tell which Salem restaurant served this plate? We'll be back with the answer on Monday.

ANSWER: This delicious pulled pork sandwich comes from Scratch Kitchen, where they are big on the pig. I'm a native North Carolinian, so I do take my 'cue very seriously. The Scratch Kitchen pulled pork sandwich is as good as I've had anywhere in the Boston area. Beats Redbones (in Somerville) and Blue Ribbon (various locations) as far as a tender, smoked pork shoulder with a vinegar-based sauce. It's mighty good. ~~~~~ Each weekend we post a photo of a dish from one of Salem's restaurants. In the comment section, make your guess about which restaurant served the meal. We'll circle back with the answer on Monday. Take a look at this week's meal and Guess the Restaurant in the comments. Good luck.

Here's our round up of the area's latest food news: In the Witch City, new restaurants are going in on the same corner at Essex and Washington. Already open is Naumkeag Ordinary, a pub that's opened in the previous Cafe Polonia spot. A warm-looking bar greets you as you come in. Round the corner and you'll see the renovations underway at the old A Taste of Thyme. That spot will reopen as Medusa's Cafe. We continue our fascination with that stretch of Danvers with all the fast food joints — Wendy's, Burger King, Taco Bell and newish addition McDonalds — right in a row. We asked …
