No Place For Hate Committee to Dedicate Plaque in Salem Today

The city's No Place for Hate Committee will dedicate a new plaque in downtown Salem this afternoon.

Local oficials will join members of the city's No Place for Hate Committee Thursday afternoon to dedicate a new plaque in downtown Salem. The ceremonial ribbon cutting is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. at the intersection of Front and Washington streets and will feature appearances from Mayor Kimberley Driscoll, state Rep. John Keenan, Salem Superintendent Stephen Russell, Salem State University President Patricia Meservey and Salem Chamber of Commerce Executive Driector Rinus Oosthoek. The primary goal of the No Place for Hate Committee is to promote a prejudice-free community and provide support and education on diversity issues for the city of Salem, according to a release issued Wednesday.
