A Fond Farewell to 'Lucy the Cat'

We're sorry to report that Salem's much-loved feline, Lucy, has passed away.

Local residents took to Facebook Sunday to share their feelings about the recent passing of Lucy the Cat, who was a well-known and much-loved fixture at the Barking Cat Pet Emporium on Essex Street. Though most people who knew him will remember him for his good looks and mellow demeanor, Lucy most recently made headlines in the spring of 2011, when he was catnapped and later rescued by the Salem police.
