The hearing will be held on Sept. 26 at 7 p.m. at the School Committee chambers at 29 Highland Ave. “The object is to learn the status of the hall of fame committee,” Crane said. The hall of fame, which was founded in 1990, primarily solicits nominations for the hall, reviews the nominees' credentials, selects the inductees, holds an induction ceremony and raises money to operate the hall of fame. It is an entirely volunteer organization. The hall of fame has also been the topic of controversy in political and sports circles, primarily because…

It is an absolute shame that the SHS HOF has come to this. Politics should not get in the way of recognizing a person's accomplishments, and Coach Perrone has very many, at every level he has coached. NOT playing football during the strike would have hurt the student, the athletes, their families and the community. Furey claims Coach Perrone is 'no saint', I'm not sure of the Councilor's …   more ›
