I'm a native North Carolinian and am telling you this is as good a pulled pork sandwich as you'll get in the Boston area.

Can you tell which Salem restaurant served this plate? We'll be back with the answer on Monday.
ANSWER: This delicious pulled pork sandwich comes from Scratch Kitchen, where they are big on the pig. I'm a native North Carolinian, so I do take my 'cue very seriously. The Scratch Kitchen pulled pork sandwich is as good as I've had anywhere in the Boston area. Beats Redbones (in Somerville) and Blue Ribbon (various locations) as far as a tender, smoked pork shoulder with a vinegar-based sauce. It's mighty good. ~~~~~ Each weekend we post a photo of a dish from one of Salem's restaurants. In the comment section, make your guess about which restaurant served the meal. Which Salem restaurant served up this plate?
ANSWER: This is not a pizza. This is, as a few readers did correctly guess, a meatball calzone. Laurie Claing Austin correctly guessed on our Facebook page that this is from North House of Pizza. Congratultaions, Laurie! I'm lucky enough to live literally around the corner from North House of Pizza. Great folks there. And that "small" calzone fed my wife and I two meals each. I have to say I've never had a calzone quite like it. I think of calzones as being pockets, not the "pizza sandwich" the North House of Pizza calzone is. Either way, it was delicious. ~~~~~ Each weekend we post a photo of a dish from one of Salem's restaurants. In the comment section, make your guess about which restaurant served the meal. Can you guess which Salem restaurant served up this pie?
ANSWER: This, my friends, was a delicious Giedi Prime from Flying Saucer Pizza Co. that I shared with my Dad last weekend. I am big on the pig, and so was this pie: prosciutto, salami, sausage and bacon. Boom! ~~~~~ Each weekend we post a photo of a dish from one of Salem's restaurants.
