PHOTOS: Before and After Salem Power Station

Here's a closer look at what the Salem Harbor Power Station is expected to look like after the original structure is demolished.

The computer-rendered photos above were included in the Visual Impact Study segment of a Footprint Salem Harbor Station Powerpoint slide presentation that was presented to a small crowd of area residents Tuesday night at Bentley Elementary School. The photos offer a before and after look at what the redesigned power station is expected to look like - the biggest change being the fact that new plant would have only one smokestack in place of the current facility's three. And that stack would be less than half the height (230 feet) of the tallest existing one (492 feet).
