This Salem mainstay snagged the top spot in our Best of Reader's Choice Breakfast category.
Red's has won our Best Of Patch Readers' Choice in the breakfast category. Maria's Place and Salem Diner also garnered strong support. In her review on the business, Michelle D wrote: "Food is tasty, prices are great, and service is always friendly and quick! Love it!" The votes are in and Salem Patch readers say Bettencourt Auto Repair is the best place to have your car serviced. Bettencourt Auto Repair received 59 votes, 36% of the vote. Bouchard and Son came in second with 27 votes. In the comment section, readers shared their experiences. Larry from Magic Muffler was praised by several readers while another remembered childhood memories going to Bouchard's. Still others touted Bettencourt's for honesty. It's clear there are great options for Salem residents when it comes to their cars. On Monday, we'll start our next poll which will ask you where you go for the best breakfast in the city.

The Tin Whistle has won our Best Of Patch Readers' Choice in the St. Patrick's Day Celebrations category. O'Neill's and Major's also had strong showings. The Tin Whistle used its Facebook page to let its loyal, local fans know the restaurant was a candidate in this week's Best of Patch Reader's Choice — "The best pubs to celebrate St. Patty's day are the local ones! Give us a vote and join us for a Murphy's Irish Stout, Magners Cider or a shot of Jameson this Saturday! Corned beef and cabbage all day! Cheers!" A number of salons received strong support.
Salon L'ondina has won our Best Of Patch Readers' Choice in the Hair Salons category. Julien Hair Networx, Amie Marie Hair Salon and Paxton also had strong showings. In her review on the business, Jane Stauffer wrote: "Carlo provides fabulous haircuts, and the salon is pleasant, clean and there is always free parking right out front, or right near by. The Hungry Whale came out on top based on reader opinion.
The Hungry Whale has won our Best Of Salem subs competition. King's Roast Beef also had a strong showing. "The Hungry Whale is great! The quality excellent! A lot of healthy choices too. I personally recommend the Tom Brady," wrote reader Jenn D. "I chose the Hungry Whale because the owners/staff are always nice, the place is always clean and the food is always fresh!," wrote Sarah L. "I went there this summer, a few times a week, solely for the Caprese Sandwich. I liked that they offer fresh and unique vegetarian options. I'm also a big ice cream fan, and I like that I can grab a sandwich and an ice cream at the same time." The next round of Best Of will feature Salem hair salons starting Monday.
