Witches Cross-Country Teams End Season at Eastern Mass. Championships
The Salem High cross-country teams both finished their seasons at the MIAA Eastern Mass. Divisional Championships on Nov. 13 at Franklin Park.
It was a tough season for the Salem High cross-country teams, who found themselves up against strong competition from teams with larger rosters. This fact once again put the Witches in a tough position as they faced off against the best teams in Eastern Mass. Division II at the MIAA EMass Divisional Championships on Nov. 13 at Franklin Park. The boys and girls finished 24 of 26 and 23 of 23 respectively, but head coach Annie Wilhelmy has still been impressed with her teams' performances. "We have never run a race this big before," she said, "so I think they did well, all things considered." Taking top spot for the boys was senior Kinnon Church, who finished 83 with a time of 18:50.
