Andy and Jackie King take pride in bringing hand-made bread to Salem locals
Andy and Jackie King are dedicated to making almost everything from scratch – from the hand-shaped Baguettes that line their shelves, to the flavored syrups that they use in their espresso drinks. "Everyday is a new day, and we make everything fresh daily," said Andy King. "We picked a very difficult industry – a bake-shop with good standards," he added. Andy and Jackie King employ a staff of bakers – some beginning work as early as 2 a.m. each morning in order to prepare fresh bread for the day. "Our products are never kept overnight," Andy King explained. Leftover products are donated to homeless shelters.
