Bicyclist Struck By Vehicle on North Street

The extent of the injuries was not immediately available.

A bicyclist struck by a vehicle was reported on North Street Monday afternoon. Scanner reports indicated there were two people involved. Reports indicated one person sustained leg and knee injuries and the other reportedly had head and neck injuries. The incident occurred in front of the fire house on North Street. The extent of the injuries was not immediately available.

MBTA Collision Victim Dies

Philip Moran, 47, was airlifted to Boston after the accident Monday morning.

The Salem man who collided with an MBTA bus Monday morning has died, according to the Salem News. Salem Police told the outlet Philip Moran, 47, died at Massachusetts General Hospital on Tuesday night. On Monday morning the Salem, state and MBTA Police were on scene of the accident, which occurred at the intersection of Federal and Washington Streets. Moran was riding a bicycle, which was on scene during the investigation, at the time of the collision. The investigation is ongoing, but no charges have been filed against the driver of the bus thus far, the outlet reports. The MBTA driver is still employed but not driving, an MBTA representative told the Salem News.

MBTA Bus Collision Victim Identified

Victim is reportedly in critical condition.

The bicyclist who was critically injured by an MBTA bus this morning has been identified at Philip Moran, 47, of Salem, according to the Boston Globe. Salem, State and MBTA police were on the scene of the accident for a few hours after the collision, which closed the outbound portion of Washington Street from Federal to Bridge streets. On scene cracks were visible on the windshield of the bus. Personal belongings were also visible in the streets as well as a bike that Moran was presumably riding. Scanner reports indicate Moran was intitally brought to Salem hospital before he was airlifted to Mass. General. Twitter user @somebodylied2u provided a photo of the Medflight leaving Salem. The accident is still under investigation.

CORRECTED: Van Driver Arrested After Boston Street Bicycle Accident

The 16-year-old victim was hit by a van driven by Mota then landed under a truck.

Correction: The previous version of this article stated Mota was the truck driver. He was, in fact, driving the van. A Salem man was arrested after an accident involving a bicyclist at Boston and Federal streets Wednesday afternoon. Trazilbo DePaula Mota, 46, of 168 Boston St. was arrested on a charge of operating without a license. A 16-year-old bicyclist was hit by the van Mota was driving and landed under a truck. Teen Hit Twice by Vehicle at Boston and Federal Streets

The accident occurred at approximately 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.

A 16-year-old male was struck twice by a vehicle at Boston and Federal streets before being transported to Salem Hospital Wednesday afternoon.  The accident occurred just after 1:30 p.m. According to scanner reports, the person was under a truck, but was not trapped. At 1:41 p.m., scanner reports indicated traffic was being redirected at the Bridge and Boston Street intersection. At approximately 1:50 p.m. police asked the Department of Public Works for horses to shut down the area for and investigation of the accident. Be sure to check back for continuing information.
