Open from May 1 to October 31, the Hawthorne Cove Marina is located within walking distance of Salem's historic downtown. The marina can accommodate yachts up to 65 feet in length. Transient vessels do not need to make reservations, but are asked to give the marina advanced  notice of their arrival. The marina uses VHF Channel 9.
