The House of the Seven Gables is a must-see for Salem tourists and residents alike. This home, built in 1668, has inspired visitors for centuries, including author Nathaniel Hawthorne, who penned the book The House of the Seven Gables in 1851. This historic monument offers guided tours, beautiful landscaped grounds, a kids' learning space and many special events throughout the year.
