Knights of Columbus
978-745-3408
Founded in 1882, the Knights of Columbus is a fraternal society guided by three principles: charity, unity, and fraternity. For more than 100 years, the Salem Knights of Columbus Veragua Council No. 76 has inhabited the historic Nathaniel Silsbee House overlooking Salem Common. Silsbee was a sea captain, ship master and eventual U.S. Senator. The Knights of Columbus is a charitable organization that contributes to the community through volunteering and fundraising. In addition, the Salem hall features three function rooms available for rent: a ballroom that accommodates 300, the second-floor Captain's Loft which fits 50, and the lower-level Chart Room which has room for 80.
