Always a good time, good food for a very reasonable price. The music can sometimes be eclectic (I LOVE that!), and has never seemed unreasonably loud (I live several block away, so can't say how I'd be affected by any loud music) when I've been there. The patrons are staunch supporters of live music, and it makes it a lot of fun to be in the middle of a crowd really diggin' the band. I salute the Pig for supporting live music!

Solid neighborhood mainstay. An integral part of the music scene here in Salem. Always filled with good people and good times.
The pig's eye is amazing. If the worst you have to deal with in your neighborhood is blues and jazz from 3-5 pm when most people are stuck in a commute anyway, your life is looking pretty awesome. If you move across the street from a place with live music, you're asking for it. Also, they never have drum kits in any of their live music nights, so that helps with the neighborhood noise issues in the evenings especially. As for illegal parking, the first thing every server has ever said to me was "don't park in a resident sticker area or the ice cream place, they tow", so the business does their best to be responsible. I will be honest, I worked there for nearly five years, many years back. The neighborhood is a majority of the client base. So you may be one of the few who view the boom as a nightmare
I live in the neighborhood with Pig's Eye.
I love the place, though I don't get in there that often. They're Cuban sandwich, with fries, for under $8? Delicious and cheap. Sign me up!
Ugh, a "classy, modern bistro" sounds like a nightmare, and just another way to destroy the soul of Salem
I'm not as close as the other poster appears to be, but I'm on the edge of earshot. I love having good food so close, and I've never heard any "hootin' & hollerin'", but I kind of wish I did! It sounds fun... I think I'd like to do some hootin' & hollerin' myself!
I have mixed feelings about the waitstaff, but the bartender, food, drinks and crowd is always good. In fact, the main reason I don't go there much is because it's always crowded!
If you lived within earshot of In a Pig's Eye, you'd hate it, too!!
Friday afternoon Blues Jam is the WORST!!
Would you like an amp turned up to 11 blasting on the corner of your street?
How about 25+ drunken patrons standing outside hootin' & hollerin'?
Would you like the walls in your home shaking & occasionally stuff falling off shelves & pictures coming off the wall?
Illegally parked cars?
It's a nightmare 6 days a week, for sure!
I heard it's For Sale. Wouldn't it be nice to have a classy, modern bistro take it's place?

The BEST steak tips around! Wonderful atmosphere, wait staff, and menu! Live music is great - a mix and variety worth listening to. Don't miss this place - it's fantastic!
