Weekend Agenda: Storms Make Way for Sunshine

Here are five fun things to do in Salem this weekend.

1
Get Outside and Enjoy the Weather: It should be a beautiful fall weekend to be out and about in Salem. The National Weather Service is predicting that local residents can expect it to be sunny both Saturday and Sunday with daily high temperatures in the low 70s. It will feel a bit cooler at night than it did during the week, with overnight lows expected to be in the high 40s.

2Listen to Some Live Music: As always, there are plenty of options when it comes to live music in Salem this weekend. Click Here to read a handy break-down of the various musical acts that will be playing at venues across the city, written by Salem Patch blogger Bob Broderick.

3Head Down to the New England Aquarium: Consider a trip to the New England Aquarium in Boston this weekend. Thanks to a grant from the Norman H. Read Charitable Trust, all Salem residents will be admitted into the New England Aquarium for free during the month of September. That is nearly a $100 value for most families. Click Here for all the details.

4
Summer Concert Series Continues: Salem's summer concert series will continue Sunday at Peabody Street Park beginning at 3 p.m. Performing this weekend will be Around the Bend, an acoustic folk-rock ensemble that incorporates well-blended harmonies with an eclectic mix of acoustic instruments. Click Here for more details about the concert.

5
Eat Some Ice Cream: The Woman's Friend Society will host an ice cream social Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. to benefit the Emmerton House. Russ Treadwell's ice cream will be served. Attendees can create their own sundaes. This event is $5 per person and will be held rain or shine. Call 978-744-2137 for more information.
