Salem State Residence Hall Hearing Thursday Night

Here are the five things you need to know before you start you week in Salem.

Today is Monday, Dec. 9, and here are the five things you need to know before you start your week

1. The rain and snow that will start the week should clear up by Tuesday night and the National Weather Service is predicting that local residents can expect daily high temperatures to drop into the 20s by the end of the week. Overnight lows this week will be in the low 30s and high 20s.

2. The Salem Conservation Commission will meet Thursday on the third floor of the City Hall Annex on Washington Street. The meeting, scheduled to begin at 6 p.m., is expected to feature a public hearing regarding the construction of a new residence hall at Salem State University, according to the posted agenda.

3. If your kids are looking to see Santa this week, consider stopping by Engine House Pizza Tuesday night from 5 to 8 p.m. The restaurant is inviting patrons to bring their cameras and come eat pizza with the big guy! Can't make it Tuesday? Santa will be back at Engine House on Dec. 17.

. The young cousin of a Salem police officer embraced the true spirit of the holiday season Saturday when she donated all of her birthday presents to Toys for Tots. Click Here for our full story.

5. The Salem Board of Health will meet Tuesday night at the City Hall Annex on Washington Street. The meeting is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. and will feature the presentation of a Communicable Disease Report.
