Salem Throwing New Year's Eve Party at Old Town Hall

Here are the five things you need to know before you start your week in Salem.

Today is Monday, Dec. 30, and here are the five things you need to know:

1. This recent stretch of warm weather will come to an end this week. The National Weather Service is predicting that the daily highs will drop into the low 20s by mid-week, when a snowstorm makes its way into the area. Click Here for your 10-day forecast.

2. Area residents are invited to ring in the New Year at Old Town Hall in Salem. The city and Salem Main Streets are teaming up to throw a LAUNCH New Year’s Eve party Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Old Town Hall and Derby Square. The event will be free to all and family-friendly.

3. Feeling brave? The 5th Annual Freeze Your Tush Off for Charity Ocean Dip will take place at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Winter Island Park boat ramp. Click Here for more information.

4. Don't forget! City offices in Salem will be closing at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday and will not be open on New Year's Day. So, if you have business to take care of at City Hall, consider taking care of it today.
