Ward 6 Recount Today in Salem

Here are the five things you need to know before you start your week in Salem.


Today is Monday, Nov. 25, and here are the five things you need to know: 

1. It's looking like you'll want to be prepared for some cold, wet weather this week in Salem. The National Weather Service is predicting that local residents can expect rain Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Daily high temperatures will be in the mid-30s and overnight lows are expected to be in the 20s.

2. The Ward 6 recount will begin today at 4 p.m. at City Hall on Washington Street. According to the city's official election resultsBeth Gerard defeated incumbent Paul C. Prevey by 16 votes, 483 to 467. We will keep you posted as the final results are released.

4. The Salem Beautification Committee will meet Tuesday night at the City Hall Annex on Washington Street. The meeting is scheduled to begin on the third floor of the building at 7 p.m., according to the posted agenda
