Free E-Waste Recycling This Saturday in Salem

Here are the five things you need to know before you start your week in Salem.

Today is Monday, Dec. 23, and here are the five things you need to know

1. Salem residents recycle electronics for free on the last Saturday of each month.  So on Saturday you can drop off your items at the DPW, 5 Jefferson Ave., from 8 a.m. to noon. Click Here for more information.

2. Salem High School's boys' varsity basketball team will take on Revere tonight at the high school. The game is set to begin at 6 p.m., so consider stopping by to cheer them on!

3. Don't forget! City offices in Salem will close at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, so if you have any business to take care of at City Hall, be sure to get it done before then.

4. We're on the look-out for a hand-knit shawl. A reader posted this message on our page over the weekend: This shawl of mine was stolen from downtown Salem. It is hand-knit, and one of a kind. I designed it, and it's made from discontinued yarn. Please Help! Click Here for more information.

5. The Salem Beautification Committee meeting scheduled for Tuesday night has been canceled, according to the city's website. Click Here to view Salem Beautification Committee agendas.
