Haunted Happenings Carnival Kicks Off This Week in Salem

Here are the five things you need to know before you start your week in Salem.


Today is Monday, Oct. 14, and here are the five things you need to know: 

1. It should be a beautiful fall day in Salem. The National Weather Service is predicting that local residents can expect it to be sunny, with a high near 61. Tonight should be cloudy, with a low around 45. (sunrise, 6:55 a.m.; high tide, 7:39 a.m.; low tide, 1:42 p.m.; sunset, 6:02 a.m.)

2. The Salem Licensing Board will meet Tuesday night at the City Hall Annex on Washington Street. The meeting, scheduled to begin at 6 p.m., is expected to feature a discussion regarding Vinny's Pizza & Roast Beef moving in on Jefferson Avenue. Click Here for our full story. 

3. This year's Haunted Happenings Carnival will kick off in Salem on Friday. The carnival will run from 2 to 9 p.m. on weekdays and 12 to 10 p.m. on weekends. Click Here for all the details.
