One of societies great benefits that you have to admire these days is the vast transparent character of that innovation we all call the internet! It provides us all with an instant high-definition window to our own world!
Sometimes its pixel quality is so fantastic and revealing that we at times find ourselves at odds over the amount of transparency it really does present to us regarding even those most sensitive of subjects and the most modest of aspects of our lives. For all of its drawbacks however, one common opinion surely rings out above them all. This is that we have surely gained much more through its presence than we can ever say we have risked or lost!
In this spirit I personally tend to occupy a preponderance of my own daily attention more towards the positive qualities of community spirit from around the world, of family, of friends and the overall well being of people! The magic of this modern invention that is the internet has given us all the capacity to reach out throughout our own community and to touch the lives of neighbors we might otherwise never have had the opportunity to meet in the first place!

Think about it for a moment if you will.
Yes we all have community news resources in print and of the broadcast media that certainly do their level bests for us. In an inclusive and an unrestricted medium however for opinion and community building efforts that allow for “everyone” to express their untainted viewpoint, such places just were never practically available in the past as they are now thanks to the marvelous advances in modern day telecommunications technology.

As I wake every morning and read through my personal favorite daily sources for community news, updates and opinion briefs from those I enjoy including into my morning, I still marvel at the actual relevance of every viewpoint that people express! Common-sense community leaders across the country and the world now have at the point and click of their fingertips a way of gaining all of the publics raw viewpoints on the matters that actually do impact them on virtually a daily basis, no pun on the virtual mind you!
I think that most people who actually take the time to notice those certain public figures, who are both active in their community and who also try to retain a strong and open internet presence are among the finest of those who are much more informed and much more inclusive of the real needs that people express in their daily lives!
I was yet again recently impressed by the current Mayor of Salem, Kimberley Driscoll and by her noticeable internet savvy as she obviously continues to make it a part of her responsibility to the whole of Salem by keeping her internet doorway open in the ways that she appears to do! At the time I recall thinking that so many other town and city officials across the country could take a due lesson from this exhibited sense of spirit from the person who occupies that certain corner office!
“There was always something special,” I remember thinking about Salem that goes beyond the locals and their continuous smiling friendly behavior toward one another! There is something that moves beyond the mere presence of economic benefit or of the historic quality that brings its people together as Salem seems to do so well! Opinion or issue set aside!
Even among those who happen to stand 180 degrees apart from each other regarding some divisive matter or issue impacting everyone, there is always a caring place for your thoughts both in local politics and in the local internet media for everyone to express their caring views!
Those in positions of some responsibility to their local communities who also embrace and take due stock in every view they read and make available to themselves on their laptops, their Smartphone’s and yes those PC’s or (personal computers) as they are stilled being referred to, serve themselves well as well as doing justice to those that they swore to serve!
It’s no wonder that Salem always comes across to me as a truly special place, a place with a feeling of cohesive strength no matter the spark of the issue involved!
I only wish that other places that in my past; even recently, that I have called home had the same involved energy and spirit that Salem seems to wax eloquent upon with such finesse!
Remember to take advantage of the local websites and community resources if you have something you feel needs to be expressed, in a respectable manner mind you! There are responsible souls taking stock of everything you say and how you really feel!
Now that’s what I call quality in representation worth your every buck and a neighborhood spirit that will not let you down!
