Celebrating the Entrance of Spring In Your Own Special Way!

Everyone embraces their own little particular ritual(s) that they observe as the seasons change and the advent of spring is by no means any different!

Some people happily prefer the habit of an entire springtime house cleaning right down to pulling out all the furniture along with the baseline of pulling up the rugs and vacuuming up all of the winter dust that’s gathered!

Some enjoy a short travel trip to some favored destination!

Others still may prefer their own little special intimate get together with friends and family and many others just play it out by the tip of their nose! In some way we all do engage in some-thing that celebrates the turning of our season of life!

In my own case I have for the longest time had the habit of re-arranging my room furniture and honestly, I couldn’t begin to tell you why? Through some innate mechanism that my mother has always referred to as my “nesting instinct”, I still to this day enjoy a new feel to every room and a sort of a re-aligned feng-shui to my living area in the new season! It provides me with a sense of a bit of a renewal that sends waves of a welcoming to a new season!

As the clocks have now sprung forward here in the northern regions of America and as we look to celebrate the entrance, FINALLY I might add, of spring after a very long and arduous winter, there are few who I personally know who are actually wishing for the cold dark winter to continue.

What is it about spring that lights off the fires of the passion for life as it were in all of us?

Oh we could look to the science-minded view that observes the behavioral reproductive cycle of the species. Hello Darwin?

Then there are the spiritualists who look more toward the fact that we all embrace the “ushering in of the seasons” as a means of replenishing our spirit!

Why not just say that many of us are simply enjoying the warmth of the sun and the joy of opening up our windows letting the fresh air return to our homes again!

As I was searching and browsing the properties for sale and rent in Salem just this week, I thought of all of the places that I enjoy spending my time in my life and that mean something special to me when I’m wandering about. This kicked off one of these seasonal thoughts as it related to the fall and the trips and the places that I really do make it a point to visit as I’m fulfilling my personal commitments around the season of Samhain/Halloween! Of course this was quickly followed up by thinking on where it was I enjoyed visiting as spring and then as summer come about?

Some of these places that serve to fill me with a renewal of springtime vital energy include my old stomping grounds in Central Massachusetts, the family camp in New Hampshire, and when in Salem I adore a spring time visit to Winter Island, the Salem Willows, the beaches and the Salem Bay shoreline! Others that I seem to always include are yet another visit to the Salem Wharf for a great meal and a nice walk to the iconic Spirit of Salem always docked in its slip!

Then there is always the joy we gain through a nice relaxing Sunday walk down Essex Street to visit some of the local shops and let’s not forget to finally spend some time in that special favorite place that helps you to feel marvelous about life and that injects a bit of fun again!

Perhaps you haven’t visited one of the top attractions in the city that for no particular reason you haven’t been to in a long time like the Pirate Museum, the Salem Witch Museum, and/or how about a nice relaxing dinner at Nathanial’s or the Tavern at the Hawthorne Hotel or another favorite eatery where you always have a good time?

Then just perhaps your own little ritual much like mine includes a rather less expensive reintroduction to the open air through a nice long walk on the Salem Common and as mine always includes a long peaceful walk by the waters edge?

However you choose to alter that now exhausted personal winter time pattern of life and then to draw open wide the curtains upon the springtime sun, do it with a smile and a new excitement for another fantastic season that’s now entering our lives!

Revitalize yourself as the new season enters your life!

Do it with a new sense of vitality for the renewal of your excitement for revisiting and or crafting new times and fantastic new days that you’ll be spending with friends and family and another chance to succeed at that doing that special “something” you have been attempting to make yours in your life!

In ancient times there were ceremonious rituals that ushered in the beginning  of another planting season and beckoning for the blessings of the Gods for a bountiful growing season with plenty of moisture to nurture the crops and a safe and healthy seasonal passage for your entire family!

It’s actually in great part the lasting cultural and distinctive effects of these ancient celebrations onto our collective heritage that have made us particularly vulnerable to those great emotional ties to these times of the year! In part this is why the advent of the spring season means so much to us all just as with other particular times of the year!

Don’t seclude and isolate yourself away from the happiness and all of the positive influx of energy that you could be including yourself into!

Enjoy yourself as a new spring season enters into your life and welcome others into your personal celebrations!

The more that you do so; you’ll be amazed at the effects it will have on both you and on others all around you!

So what if some think you’re suddenly acting like a bit of a fruit-loop?

So what if some look in your direction as if you just may belong with an abstract dancing troop on some stage of the Cirque?

Embrace the entrance of spring and let it also embrace you!!!

Love, light, and the brightest of blessings!
