Salem Ink Tattoo & Gallery Opening Next Year on Pickering Wharf

Salem Ink Tattoo will open a second location in downtown Salem.

Salem Ink Tattoo & Gallery will open a second location at Pickering Wharf in Salem early next year.

Shop manager Adam Harmon said demolition has already begun at the business' new location and construction is expected to start sometime after Thanksgiving.

"None of this would be possible without our fantastic clients and the support from the Salem community," Harmon said. "Salem Ink has some of nicest and most discerning clients in the tattoo community. We have felt incredibly welcomed and loved these last two plus years and look forward to sharing this new location with them all."

Salem Ink has been operating since September 2011 and has four full-time artists with more than 25 years of cumulative experience in the business.

The new location will double as an art gallery where work created by Salem Ink artists and other area artisans will be on display.

Harmon was one of the artists selected by the city of Salem for the 2013 Salem Utility Art Box project. His utility box can be seen at the intersection of North Street and Bridge Street near F.W. Webb in Salem.

"The new shop will triple our available space and we will continue to operate our community art gallery," Harmon said.
