Salem State Students Name New Dorm 'Viking Hall'

Salem State University students took to Twitter to help name the college's new residence hall.

The results of a survey to have students name the new residence hall, currently under construction on Central Campus, were announced Tuesday.

The new four-story, 350-bed residence hall will be known as Viking Hall.

The name-the-hall contest was held via Twitter with over 100 current students responding with suggestions.

The selection of the new name is considered reflective of increased school spirit on the university campus, which has been enhanced by the opening of the new Berry Library and Learning Commons and the Gassett Fitness Center.
