Salem public school students can stay home Thursday and Friday.
The approaching Nor'easter has prompted local school officials to order Salem public schools closed for the rest of the week.
Due to the expected cold temperatures and snow, Salem public schools will be closed Thursday, Jan. 2 and Friday Jan. 3, according to this announcement on the SPS website.
The National Weather Service is predicting that the storm will dump between 8 and 12 inches of snow on Salem.
