My Favorite 2013 Summer Memories

A look back at some of my favorite summer moments in Salem.

It makes me sad to think about, but it's almost time to say goodbye to summer. Here's a look back at some of my favorite summer memories.

Want to share your summer memories? It's easy! Just click this link and you can post your photos and stories.

1. Moving to the Willows: Talk about the perfect time to get settled into a new home! I moved down to the Willows from North Salem in June, and the summer-time atmosphere has been fantastic. Yes, maybe I've ventured over to E.W. Hobb's for popcorn more times than I should have, but who can really complain about that?

2. Paul McCartney at Fenway: The tickets were last minute, but were certainly worth it. Paul's performance was stellar and it's not every day that I can make both my friends and my parents jealous about the concert I went to! Check out my blog post on Fenway Kenmore Patch if you want to see some video clips from the show.

3. Beachin' It: I simply can't get enough of the beach. Plus, having moved down to the Willows I was able to enjoy it more often than previous years, whether it was taking my pup for a walk at dusk or stopping over to Juniper Beach for a quick lunch. Which beach on the North Shore is your favorite? (Let me know if the comments so I can check it out!)

4. Food + Drink: Lobster, ice cream, fried clams, chowder, fresh fruits and veggies, burgers and dogs on the grill, margaritas--shall I go on? There's just something about the tastes of summer that are better to me. But, I can't say I'm not a little bit excited to start on my autumn pumpkin-everything binge come September first.

5. Going Away for Vacation: This summer I was lucky enough to head down to Texas for a week for vacation with friends. Got to see an area I'd never been before, and it lived up to its expectations. Plus, I've always found that going away to a place that's completely different makes me appreciate home just a little more (love ya, Salem!)

Summer, you've been great. Bring on the fall, Salem!
