Spot a Pothole? Email the City of Salem

The city of Salem is reminding local residents to contact the Department of Public Works about potholes in their neighborhood.

Spring is here, which means it's pothole season in Salem.

Earlier this week, the city of Salem issued a press release aimed at reminding local residents that they can help fix/fill potholes by reporting the trouble spots to Potholes@Salem.com.

When filing a request, consider attaching a photograph of the pothole and be sure to include the exact address and contact information.

The Department of Public Works will be monitoring this account and assigning crews to fill-in and repair pothole locations throughout the city.

For any additional questions, residents are encouraged to contact the Salem DPW at (978)-744-3302.

at the central st end of charter st there is a manhole cover that is depressed about three to four inches. I witness a woman take a fall because of it yesterday. thank goodness she wasn't hurt but this is a busy pedestrian corner and people cross right over it constantly. its not a quick fix job but it has to be done before the tourists get here.

It is important to let taxpayers know when a pot hole has been reported(date and time)so when someone hits that hole and damage is sustained, the city can be held responsible.
