Trio Arrested on Heroin Charges Near Forest River Park

The following is an excerpt from the Salem Police Department's log: 


Sunday, July 21

  • At 6:15 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Washington Square North.
  • At 6:18 p.m., police responded to a fight near the intersection of Lafayette Street and West Avenue.
  • At 8:05 p.m., police responded to a report of a loud outdoor party near the intersection of Harbor and Prince streets.
  • At 9:45 p.m., police responded to a report of kids in the park on Orne Street.
  • At 9:57 p.m., police responded to a dispute over a motor vehicle on Phillips Street.
  • At 11:32 p.m., police responded to a noise complaint near the intersection of Story and Laurier roads.


Monday, July 22

  • At 7:16 a.m., a Charles Street resident called police to report that someone kicked in their window and $5,000 in cash was taken.
  • At 8:48 a.m., police conducted a well-being check on Roslyn Street.
  • At 9:24 a.m., police responded to a report of a past larceny at The Plaster Fun Time Shop on Highland Avenue.
  • At 9:54 a.m., a hypodermic needle was discovered on West Avenue.
  • At 10:06 a.m., police responded to a report of past credit card fraud on Lee Street.
  • At 10:54 a.m., police searched for a hypodermic needle that was reportedly found on a sidewalk on Dearborn Street. They were unable to find the needle.
  • At 11:08 a.m., an employee at The Beverly Co-op Bank called police to report that their sprinkler system was damaged overnight.
  • At 11:19 a.m., a passport discovered near the intersection of Federal and St. Peter streets was turned over to police. The owner eventually came in to pick up the passport.
  • At 11:28 a.m., police responded to a report of a woman talking to herself loudly on Essex Street.
  • At 11:35 a.m., police responded to a report of a possibly rabid raccoon on Fairview Road. Police were unable to locate the animal.
  • At 11:39 a.m., a woman entered the police station to report that her pocketbook was stolen from the parking lot of the Market Basket on Highland Avenue. Police are planning to review surveillance videos from the scene.
  • At 12:46 p.m., police responded to a report of suspicious activity in the area of Forest River Park. Jessica M. Candilieri, 19, of 32 Church St., Gonic, N.H., was arrested on a charge of illegally possessing a class A substance (heroin).  George S. Gianareles, 38, of 5 Ayer St., Peabody, was arrested on a charge of illegally possessing a class A substance (heroin) subsequent offense. Kirk M. Pickard, 38, of 14 Benjamin Road, Worcester, was arrested on a charge of illegally possessing a class A substance (heroin) subsequent offense.
  • At 1:03 p.m., police responded to a reported fight in the parking lot of the Wendy's on Lafayette Street. A man was placed into protective custody.
  • At 1:53 p.m., lawn items were recovered near the intersection of Parlee Street and Malone Drive.
  • At 2:07 p.m., police responded to a shoplifting incident at the CVS on Essex Street.
  • At 4:12 p.m., police responded to a dispute between dog owners near the intersection of Commercial Street and Leslie Retreat Walkway.
  • At 4:46 p.m., police responded to a report of kids playing with BB guns near Mack Park.
  • At 4:59 p.m., police responded to a dispute with a taxi driver on HIghland Avenue.
  • At 5:25 p.m., police responded to a report of a car parked on a sidewalk on Oak Street.
