T Police: Man Committed Lewd Act on Commuter Train

Police are seeking to identify and locate a man allegedly connected to a lewd act on a train headed for either Beverly or Swampscott last weekend.

Transit police are seeking to identify a man who allegedly committed a “lewd act” on a commuter rail last weekend.

In a blog post on Tuesday, the T police said the man they are seeking to ID is described as a white man who is 5-foot, 11 inches to 6-foot, 1-inch tall with a slim build. He is shown in the attached photo.

The incident allegedly occurred on Saturday, Jan. 18 at about 8:10 p.m. and at the time he was wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt and a flat brimmed baseball hat and was carrying a dark purple backpack

The man was on an inbound commuter rail train on the MBTA commuter rail’s Rockport line and boarded at either Gloucester or West Gloucester station and got off at either Beverly Depot or Swampscott station.

Transit Police Detectives said that anyone who knows the whereabouts or identity of this man should contact the T Police’s Criminal Investigations Unit at 617-222-1050, send a text to 873873 or use the anonymous feature on the MBTA’s SeeSay app.
