Electric Wheelchair Stolen in Salem Returned to Owner

An electric wheelchair that went missing on Federal Street has been returned to its owner.

The Salem Police Department announced Tuesday that an electric wheelchair that went missing on Federal Street over the weekend has been recovered and returned to its owner.

The wheelchair, which looks exactly like the one pictured above, was reportedly removed from the rear of 191 Federal St. sometime between March 20 and March 22.

Salem police detective Brian St. Pierre said a 20-year-old happened across the wheelchair in some bushes on Goodhue Street and wheeled it home to his mother.

"She saw it and recognized it from the report on the news," St. Pierre said. "We were able to go out there this afternoon and recover it."
