Sexual Assault on a Child Reported on Loring Avenue

The following is an excerpt from the Salem Police Department's log:

Monday, Nov. 26:

  • At 4:07 p.m., a woman called police to report that her purse was stolen from a shopping cart at Market Basket on Highland Avenue. 
  • At 6:45 p.m., a Harbor Street woman called police to report that someone had hacked into her computer and canceled her Facebook account.
  • At 7:01 p.m., a Salem Street resident entered the police station to report being the victim of identity theft. 
  • At 8:43 p.m., police responded to a reported domestic dispute on Nichols Street. A woman told police that she got in an argument with a man who ended up head-butting her.
  • At 9:22 p.m., police responded to a reported fight on Margin Street.
  • At 9:32 p.m., police responded to a burglar alarm on Bowditch School.

Tuesday, Nov. 27:

  • At 12:12 a.m., an intoxicated man on Washington Street was placed in protective custody.
  • At 1:45 a.m., police reportedly noticed a man inside Salem Laundry, which was supposed to be closed. Maslin Alincy, 29, of 285 Green St., Brockton, was arrested for having an outstanding warrant.
  • At 5:13 a.m., police responded to a burglar alarm at Saltonstall School.
  • At 8:11 a.m., police responded to a motor vehicle accident on Marlborough Road involving a Ford Focus and a Ford F250.
  • At 8:42 p.m., a St. Peter Street woman called police to report being harassed by someone.
  • At 11:28 a.m., police responded to a hit-and-run in the Target parking lot on Highland Avenue.
  • At 11:52 a.m., police responded to a motor vehicle accident on Loring Avenue involving a Mazda van and a Honda Odyssey.
  • At 11:55 a.m., police responded to a motor vehicle accident on Broad Street involving a Saturn and a Chrysler van.
  • At 1:01 p.m., a Salem Street woman called police to report that people were banging on her door at "all hours of the night." She was advised to call back when someone bangs on her door again.
  •  At 1:53 p.m., police responded to a reported sexual assault against a child on Loring Avenue.
  • At 2:05 p.m., a man called police to report that someone stole his backpack from the YMCA on Sewell Street. A woman at the front desk reportedly told him two teens had recently fled the building.
  • At 2:27 p.m., police responded to a report of a suspicious motor vehicle parked near Mansell's Park. 
  • At 3:34 p.m., police responded to an accidental 911 call from a home on Highland Avenue.
